A Few of My Favourtie Things

WELCOME !!!!!!!

So as this is my first blog post I thought I would share a few of my favourite things with you so it's easier for you to get to know me. What I can tell you is that I am sports mad first and fore most and sports is my main passion. However I also enjoy reading, films particularly Disney and musicals, I know it's a bit of mixture. so here's 20 things about me:

Favourite Football Team?

I have two these are Manchester United as I was bought up on watching them and my Dad is a huge fan of them. My other team is Aston Villa as this is the closest place for me to watch Premier League football and I have been going for 5 years now.

Favourite Football Player?

My favourite footballer isn't a conventional favourite player for many people and this person is Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana, I love how technically gifted he is and how creative he is.

Favourite Foreign Team?

Again not a conventional choice but my favourite foreign team is Atletico Madrid purely because I watched a few of their games and just stuck with them plus I like not being in the normal.

Favourite non English Player?

So sticking with the Atletico Madrid theme my favourite non English player is Antoine Griezmann the clubs number 7 who scored the third highest amount of goals in La Liga only Ronaldo and Messi scored more.

Ronaldo v Messi?

Messi just a better player to watch in my opinion.

First Football Match?

This was Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur in November 2009 the end score was 1-1.

First Away Game?

This was Arsenal v Aston Villa in February 2015 which unfortunately ended up being 5-0 loss. However the Emirates is a lovely stadium.

First International Football Match?

This was England v Republic of Ireland in May 2013 which ended 1-1.

Best Football Game Ever Witnessed?

This has to be the FA Cup semi final between Aston Villa v Liverpool at Wembley in May 2015, no one gave Villa a chance given recent league form at the time and the lack of quality that they weren't showing and looked even more unlikely when they went 1-0 but somehow Villa pulled it out of the bag and won 2-1 and got into the FA Cup final.

Best Player Seen Live?

This has to be the pass master that is Paul Scholes, I only ever saw him play once because when I started attending football matches most of what my generation consider to be legends had retired or coming to the end of their careers.

Best Player Wished Have Seen Live?

Only one player comes to mind and that's David Beckham, enough said.

Favourite Rugby Team?

Again I have two and these are Saracens because I like how they play their rugby and enjoy watching them and the other is Gloucester as this is my local team and the atmosphere at the Kingsholm is one of the most amazing things to experience.

Favourite Rugby Player?

I have two, I know I'm such an indecisive person, my first favourite is Saracens and England fly half Owen Farrell this guy has been one of my favourites for years and I love how fiery he is even though he does cross the line quite a lot, his kicking is near enough faultless and his decision making is second none. My other favourite is Gloucester and England winger Jonny May he's just a joy to watch, going forward he's one of the best and he's got such quick tricky feet to avoid tackles it's fantastic.

First Rugby Game?

This was Gloucester v London Wasps about 2 years ago, was in my first year of university.

First International Rugby Game?

This was in the Rugby World Cup 2015 and the game was South Africa v Samoa in the group stages at Villa Park, it's a day I will never forget really was a once in a lifetime experience.

Best Rugby Game Ever Witnessed?

This was Gloucester v Saracens in January 2015 in which Gloucester won with the last kick of the game, luck really was with Gloucester that night after Saracens had a try disallowed moments before Gloucester scored the winning penalty. No one thought it would happen people were leaving beforehand and I must admit it was a very brave decision from James Hook to kick from the halfway line as his kicking hadn't been the best but luckily the gamble paid off.

Favourite Book?

This is Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher, I love this book so much it's ridiculously cute, makes you smile, makes you cry and it's very relatable, I encourage you to read this book I recommended this to my best friend and she loved it.

Favourite Film?

I love Casino Royale (James Bond) it has everything car chases, THAT Daniel Craig ocean scene, action and more.

Favourite Disney Film?

I have two again, sorry, the first is the live action Cinderella film, I love this film it's so pure and gives out such an amazing message of courage and kindness and I did fall in love with Prince Kit as well. My favourite animated Disney film is Aladdin it has amazing music, a loveable main character, a proper villain and yeah I just love it.

Favourite Musical?

We've made it to the final question there has been a lot of info shared. My favourite musical is Les Miserables, I recently saw this on stage and it blew my mind, the staging was amazing everything was on a turntable, the costumes were fantastic and the singing that was the best thing about it, one of my favourite people in Carrie Hope Fletcher is in this show and she was amazing. I literally despaired with Fantine, fell in love with Marius, was heartbroken with Eponine and hoped with Enjorlas.

Right I hope that was a good insight into a few of my favourite things. I don't know how often I will be posting on here but I cannot wait to share my experiences with you and for you to come on this journey with me.

Loves & Hugs xx

Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
