March Favourites

Hey Guys

Hope you are all well, that time again for another monthly favourites cannot believe that March has come and gone already it is crazy.

DAY:

I know this might seem like a bit of an odd one but my favourite day this month was my birthday which was on the 2nd, was a lovely day to spend with the people I love and the food we had from Apres was delicious. I was truly spoilt with presents and what was an added bonus was I put a bet on Adam Lallana to score against Manchester City I thought why not it is my birthday why not bet on my favourite player to score a goal, I didn't expect it to happen at all but it did so that made my birthday a little bit more special.

FILM:

I had quite a good month with going to the cinema I saw 3 films this month which were London Has Fallen, Allegient and Batman V Superman. My favourite was obviously Batman v Superman I loved it so much, I know it had bad reviews but I don't really read them because I prefer to have my own opinion and not have pre-judged opinions of a film. I liked the plot of it and how everything was bought together in the end, I thought Ben Affleck was amazing as Batman and really made the role his own and of course Henry Cavill was once again brilliant as Superman, we also had the introduction of Wonder Women which I thought was introduced well. However I do feel that the film was too long, 151 minutes, they could have quite easily cut it down into a 2 hour film as I feel some back story wasn't necessary. I would say go and see it for yourself and form your own opinion.

TV:

This month Once Upon a Time returned on Netflix after its mid season break and I am still enjoying it as always cannot wait to see where the rest of the series is going. I am not going to say anymore because I need to catch up and I don't want to spoil it for anyone either.

BOOKS:

I finished 4 books this month which for me is pretty good going. I read Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard the 2nd book to Red Queen, Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff and the first 2 books in the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare being Clockwork Angel and Clockword Prince. My favourite has been both the Infernal Devices books, I like the Mortal Instruments books but I think the Infernal Devices is so much better and I have found them so much easier to read. I am about to start Clockwork Princess and I cannot wait to see what happens in the end after what happened in the other 2 books which I am not going to spoil at all. Also I think I'm routing for the Will and Tessa relationship instead of the Jem and Tessa relationship.

SPORT:

This month England Rugby sealed the Grand Slam and the 6 Nations trophy, England Cricket team got through to the semi finals of the T20 World Cup, the F1 season returned with a bang and the title race in premier league is hotting up with Leicester still going on their amazing winning run. My favourite has to be England winning the Grand Slam and 6 Nations because after what happened in the World Cup last year this was the best possible way to bounce back from it and will give the players confidence and create a stepping stone towards more success when they travel to play Australia in June.

FASHION:

I have two fashion favourites this month and they are a pink handbag from River Island and the Princess ring from Pandora both of which I got for my birthday. Firstly the bag is just gorgeous and big and roomy it has two big pockets with a hidden pocket between the two. It's pink and stripy on the outside with 2 handles that means it can be carried in the crook of the arm or there is a long strap so it can be carried on the shoulder. Inside it is white silky material which looks so pretty but I am a bit worried about staining. The princess ring is basically a Princess crown shaped ring with a little white gem in the middle of it making it so pretty and dainty, I love it.

That's it for my favourites this month, hope you enjoyed this post

Loves and Hugs

Stacey xx

Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
