Hey Guys
Hope you are all ok
This week I am going to be sharing my most anticipated books of 2016, I have no idea why I haven't done this yet because there have been so many good book releases out this year. So here is my top 10 most anticipated books for the rest of 2016, this may contain some spoilers as some of these are the next books in certain series so the synopsis may give away some spoilers if you are not up to date, so proceed with caution.
1. Always With Love by Giovanna Fletcher
Released: 2nd June 2016
Synopsis: Sophie's got used to being the girlfriend of Billy Buskin, the biggest movie star in the world. Sort of. But when she and Billy take a trip to visit his family in Los Angeles, she quickly discovers she's totally unprepared for the chaos of Hollywood, the paparazzi and Billy's controlling mother. And when Billy extends his stay in LA, leaving Sophie to fly home to Rosefont Hill alone, it seems there's more than just miles between them. Now Sophie must decide if they can overcome their differences for good. Because not every love story lasts the distance.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love Gi's first book Billy and Me, I cannot wait to re visit these characters and progress with story which picks up after the end of the Christmas with Billy and Me novella. I have a feeling this book is going to break my heart because I love the relationship that Billy and Sophie have let's hope for a happy ending.
2. On The Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher
Released: 14th July 2016
Synopsis: Evie Snow is eighty-two when she quietly passes away in her sleep, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. It's the way most people wish to leave the world but when Evie reaches the door of her own private heaven, she finds that she's become her twenty-seven-year-old self and the door won't open. Evie's soul must be light enough to pass through so she needs to get rid of whatever is making her soul heavy. For Evie, this means unburdening herself of the three secrets that have weighed her down for over fifty years, so she must find a way to reveal them before it's too late. As Evie begins the journey of a lifetime, she learns more about life and love than she ever thought possible, and somehow , some way, she may also find her way back to her long lost love.
I'm looking forward to Carrie's first dabble with fiction writing after her best selling non-fiction book All I know now which I enjoyed. Also I like the premise of the book and cannot wait to dive into this story and go with it's twists and turns.
3. The Land of Stories 5 by Chris Colfer
Released: July 2016
No synopsis for this book yet but I am assuming it's going to continue on from the 4th book with the Bailey twins and their gang of Fairy tale characters taking on the Masked Man. I love this series as I have previously mentioned on this blog and the 4th book ended on such a cliff hanger.
4. Throne of Glass 5 by Sarah J Maas
Released: September 2016
Synopsis: The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those don't. As the kingdoms of Erilea fracture around her, enemies must become allies if Aelin is to keep those she loves from falling to the dark forces poised to claim her world. With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.
Cannot wait for the Throne of Glass series to continue after the events in Queen of Shadows cannot wait to see what the gang are going to take on next.
5. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas
Released: 3rd May 2016
Synopsis: Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court--but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people. Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms--and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future--and the future of a world cleaved in two.
This is the sequel to Sarah J Maas new series A Court of Thorns and Roses which I enjoyed and am intrigued to see what implications the events of that book will have on this and how the characters will cope with this.
6. The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon
Released: November 2016
Synopsis: On the eve of a new decade, after two hundred years of Scion rule, a revolution is beginning. Its unlikely cradle is the clairvoyant underworld in London, and even an old ally’s betrayal cannot stop it, but an enemy from Paige Mahoney’s past is about to return – an enemy that could quench the flame of hope for good.
This is the 3rd book in the Bone Season series, another book where I cannot wait to see how the events of the previous one will play into this especially with how the 2nd ended.
7. The Last Star by Rick Yancey
Released: 24th May 2016
Synopsis: We’re here, then we’re gone, and that was true before they came. That’s always been true. The Others didn’t invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won’t end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning, on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.
This is the final book in 5th Wave series, I loved the first book not read the 2nd yet but I cannot wait to read this and see how everything ends.
8. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Released: 8th March 2016
Synopsis: It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses. Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions…Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark—who was captured by the faeries five years ago—has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind—and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?
This is a new Shadowhunter series by Cassandra Clare called The Dark Artifices, I thoroughly enjoyed the Mortal Instruments, however it will be a while before I read this book as I feel like I need to read the Infernal devices and Shadowhunter Academy novellas before I can read this but I'm looking forward to revisitng this world.
9. Illustrated Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling and Jim Kay
Released: October 2016
Self explanatory this is really it is an illustrated version of the 2nd Harry Potter book because they are being released one a year for the next 5 years in this format. The first one was beautifully illustrated so I cannot wait to own the 2nd one when it is released and be graced with more beautiful artwork.
10. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by JK Rowling
Released: 31st July 2016
Synopsis: It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.
This is the script in book form of the new Harry Potter play that is coming to the West End. Honestly I don't know how I feel about this I love Harry Potter but I feel that putting it on stage and having new faces to the characters doesn't feel right so I have no desire to see the play at all. I don't see the point of milking the Harry Potter series more than it has been, all that being said I am more willing to give the book a go, so we shall see.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this list of my most anticipated books for the rest of this year. Let me know what you are anticipating this year.
Until next time
