June Review and Favourites

Hey Guys

Today I'm going to talk about how the month of June went for me it was rather busy and hectic but thoroughly enjoyable at the same time.

So this month I went to London then I went glamping in Chepstow with my boyfriend and some friends then I went to the Glee Club in Birmingham for a Comedy Night for a friend's birthday. Additionally, me and my boyfriend have a booked trip to Disneyland Paris for next February-March for my birthday, this will be my first time ever going to Disney which is an absolute dream come true.

FILM:

This month I watched one film in the cinema which was Alice Through The Looking Glass which I thoroughly enjoyed and thought had a lovely message about time. I also did see the first one before I saw this one and enjoyed that as well. I'd give them both a 4/5 stars, not my favourite but I still really enjoyed them nonetheless.

BOOKS:

I read three books this month which were The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan, Always with Love by Giovanna Fletcher and Poison Study by Maria V Snyder. My favourite has to be Always With Love I have needed a sequel to Billy and Me (which is my favourite book EVER) ever since I have finished it. I loved Always With Love so much and was the perfect sequel it had so much character development especially the main character Sophie. However, the ending of this book makes me want yet another Billy and Sophie story continuing what happened at the end of Always With Love 5/5 stars 100%.

MUSICAL:

So this month I saw Aladdin The Musical at the Prince Edward's Theatre in London's West End, I have already written a blog post on this which I loved so much seeing one of my childhood favourites come to life before me in such a magical way. You have to go and see it if you love the Disney movie.

MUSIC:

This month I have obviously been loving the Aladdin Musical soundtrack it's just amazing, if you can't see the show then go and listen to the musical album. There is only one other song I have been loving is Into You by Ariana Grande, it's just such a catchy song which is the kind of music I like.

TV:

This month telly wise I have been loving The Musketeers which started up again on BBC One for it's third and final series. I have followed this since it begun and I very emotionally invested in it but intrigued to see how they are going to end it all when it comes to it I'm expecting so emotional deaths. I also fully caught up on Once Upon A Time as well which means the long 3 month wait until the next series lands onto Netflix.

YOUTUBE:

I enjoy watching YouTube and can't quite believe how much influence it has now and credit where credit is due I haven't learnt a lot of different things from watching YouTube videos. A few months ago I came across a YouTuber called Ellie Steadman and her main passion is Disney so I knew I had to watch her videos as a fellow Disney lover and I love her videos now. I think she is a very down to earth person and gives a realistic portrayal in her day to day life that people can relate too. If you love Disney go and watch her videos you will not be disappointed.

SPORT:

It's been a very busy month in the world of sport the Euros in France have started and as normal England disappointed the nation but Iceland have really been the surprise package., as well as Wales especially but also N. Ireland and Republic of Ireland giving good accounts of themselves in the competition. England cricket team have beaten Sri Lanka in the test matches and now the ODIs. Andy Murray became the only man to win 5 Queens titles as well. Finally the England Rugby team for the first time in a long time won a series in Australia with them winning all 3 matches and giving very good accounts of themselves both attacking and defensive banishing the demons from the World Cup 9 months ago.

GAMES:

I have loved to games this month as well, the first is Disney Magic Kingdom game which you can get for your phone or tablet which involves you making your own Disney Magic kingdom by freeing it up slowly from Maleficent's curse by introducing different characters and doing various tasks to unlock a variety of stuff. The second game is Disney Infinity which is a platform console game which involves you buying various little figures and game figures to make your way through there are various play sets such as Star Wars and Inside Out.

That's all for this month which has been busy and July is going to be a lot busier keep your eyes peeled for a lot of posts on all of that. Hope you've enjoyed this until next month.

Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
