Disneyland Paris trip Day 1 (Feb-March 2017)

I'm back from my first ever trip to Disneyland Paris which I took last week and now I am going to share with you my experience and what we did on each day. We stayed from Monday 27th February until Friday 3rd March. Me and my boyfriend Darren stayed on site at Hotel Cheyenne whilst Kelly who is Darren's sister and her boyfriend Alex stayed off site at Magic Circus Hotel but had Annual Passes to still get the Disney perks.

Monday 27th February

6am wake up ready to get to Bedford station to get down St Pancras for our 10:14 Eurostar. To get ourselves in the Disney mood we put a Disney CD on in the car. Once at St Pancras we got McDonald's breakfast which I had never had but thoroughly enjoyed and was much needed after the early start to the day. The check in process at St Pancras for the Eurostar was quite easy and relaxed. I found the whole experience very pleasant and stress free.

We arrived into (station name) 3 hours after getting on the Eurostar and the weather was horrible, it was pouring it down with rain. It was quite easy for us to find out which bus stop we needed because it was very clearly sign posted which helped a lot and we didn't have to wait that long for a bus to come along. We found the checking in process very easy, we had to fill in a form then the lady on reception gave us a map to show us how to get to our room which was in Butch Cassidy (block 23), room 2393, which we found out is one of the furthest blocks from reception and our room is the last room in that block. Our room was very simple it had a double bed, bunk bed, draws, hanging space, a safe and a telly as well as a standard bathroom with a bath shower.

We then went straight back out to the park and met back up with the other two and went straight into the main park. That feeling of seeing the castle for the first time is something I will never forget and I don't think will ever get old because it just so beautiful. We tried to queue for Dumbo but whilst we were waiting it broke down, so instead for our first ride of the trip was It's a Small World. After this we just had a wonder around the Disneyland Park and it's 4 lands as well as Main Street USA and we covered quite a lot of ground and just went on rides when we wanted. We went on Phantom Manor, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast which I started really well on but got worse throughout the trip and Orbitron. Even though Me and Darren had Half Board Standard meal plan we were told when trying to make reservations that everywhere was full so as we were in Discoveryland we went to Café Hyperion and had a Quick Service dinner, I had a chicken burger, chips and diet coke and we sat and watched the Jedi Training Academy that goes on there.

After a bit more wondering round we went and got our spot for the fireworks which we got by a bench so no one could stand in front of us but it's amazing how people try and get their child to see the fireworks. In all we waited about half an hour for the fireworks and they were worth the wait. They are absolutely beautiful and unfortunately at the end of this month going to be changed but I am glad I got to see them, my favourite part is the Tangled part it made me cry so much. After this we slowly filtered into the Disney village and originally we were going to go to the Sports Bar to watch some football but it was full so we decided to go across the way to Billy Bob's instead which was really lovely. Me and Kelly treated ourselves to a Glowtini each and the boys had a Magners and JD and Coke. We only stayed for one drink then decided to head back so we could be prepared for our first full on day in the parks.

Hope you enjoyed reading about Day 1, until Day 2

Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
