Disneyland Paris Day 4 (Feb-March 2017)

Thursday 2nd March (My Birthday)

To start the day we had a reservation at Café Mickey for breakfast which was the one thing I really wanted to do this holiday and it was so worth it. It was a hot and cold buffet and the food was so lovely I think we had 3 helpings each of the food. The part that made this was the character interaction we had also because I had my birthday badge on it made the interactions even better. We met Mickey first who was great then it was Dale who was the best because Alex didn't know which chipmunk he was so that was fun because then Dale just started messing about with Alex and we all got photos and he noticed my badge as well.  Next was Chip who wasn't the best to meet because you could tell he was in a rush so he came to the table we had to take photos in pairs then he moved on. Next was Tigger who was amazing we got a group picture with him but he took time with us and wanted to sing me Happy Birthday which is cute. The last character we met was Pluto who was also amazing and a very good interaction, he noticed my badge and we had a little dance and I got an extra hug. It was a truly magical experience and a great way to start the day.

After this we decided to queue up for Frontierland so we could get Big Thunder Mountain Fastpasses. Instead of waiting in the main entrance Kelly and Alex discovered that by opposite Casey's to the side of the arcade is a little walkway to Frontierland which a lot of people don't realise so we were lucky to be at the front ready for when the rope was removed, a queue did form but nothing to the capacity of the one by the main entrance. We decided that Alex and Darren run ahead and get the passes because then they could run and it saved time. Once again it was chaos when it opened but the boys did good and got tot the front of the Fastpass line and we got the first Fastpasses after 11 which was great. We had a bit of time to kill so I decided to go pick up an item I wanted from the shop so we did that then Me and Darren popped it back to the hotel and went back to the park which by that time it was time for out Fastpasses. I loved Big Thunder Mountain again obviously I say it's the best ride in the park. We then decided to try and get Fastpasses for Ratatouille which we didn't get unfortunately. Then we went on a couple of rides around the Studios the boys did the Armageddon Effects thing whilst me and Kelly went on the Flying Carpets over Agrabah which became our thing, the three of them went on Aerosmith whilst I waited at the end. We went in the Blockbuster café for food because it's Iron Man themed and Alex loves Iron Man but unfortunately there wasn't anything I liked on the menu and Darren didn't fancy anything on there so instead we went into Studio 1 and grabbed a Cookie and a drink and the Cast Member at the Counter was lovely and went mental when she saw it was my birthday which was lovely.

We went back to the Disneyland Park and took a couple of photos and had a walk around to kill time before our reservation at Plaza Gardens. We also went to Discoveryland to see if Stitch who is Kelly's favourite was around because he was earlier in the day but sadly not so we decided to do the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea walkthrough which isn't anything ground breaking but was something different then we treated ourselves to some crepes. I then went and took a couple of pictures of the Cinderella carriage outside Auberge then I went and saw the wishing well as well then Kelly and Alex took a break and me and Darren tried to go on Snow White. I say tried because the queue was so long and there was family in front of us with an unruly little boy who actually came up to Darren and punched him in the leg then walked off and his family didn't notice so that set the tone of it so once got the certain point in the queue we used the little exit and went back to meet the other two. We decided to try and see if we could get into  Plaza Gardens half an hour before our actual reservation and they very kindly let us. I loved the food it was very tradition English food it was so delicious I had 3 plates full of food. By the time we finished we were able to get a spot for the parade it wasn't the best view as we couldn't see the characters on the floor but we could see the floats and they were amazing and the song was very catchy. We then headed to Frontierland and did our obligatory daily ride on Phantom Manor then Alex really wanted to go up the Robinson Treehouse in Adventureland so we went and did that and got some cool photos and the views were amazing. We still had time to kill before getting our spot for the fireworks so we decided to explore all the caves around Pirates of the Caribbean which was lovely to just walk and explore.

We then made our way back round to our spot for the fireworks and had to wait about an hour. The only problem we had throughout the fireworks was me and Kelly having a little boy trying to squeeze between us but we stopped him but again the fireworks were amazing considering this is the last time we were ever going to see Dreams because it has now changed to Illuminations for the 25th Anniversary. I cried again at the Tangled part because that was my favourite part because I'm such a Princess person. To end the probably the best birthday I have ever had we went into the Disneyland Hotel and went to the Fantasia bar where we got one drink because it so expensive but it was so pretty and I am so glad we got to go inside this hotel, one day it would be my dream to stay here. We then went back to the hotel to pack up ready to go home the next day.

I seriously had the best birthday ever I couldn't imagine a better place to spend it and with the best company as well.

Until my next post

Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
