My Favourite Disney Songs

I realised that as much as I talk about Disney I have never actually shared my favourites so I am going to rectify this right now. I am going to discuss my 10 favourite Disney songs in no particular order they are just 10 that I can keep listening to over and over.

1. Gaston- Live Action Beauty and the Beast

I have been obsessed with the Live Action version of this song ever since it was released and I am still singing it now. First of all Josh Gad is incredible and I just love him singing this song and the acting that goes into it is fantastic. Then Luke Evans in this song is amazing, especially when he holds notes it is just another level. The two of them together in this song is the perfect match. It is different to the original and I think it's much more musical which I personally prefer and in the film it is a real showpiece I just adore it.

2. Friend Like Me- Aladdin

I have loved this song forever it is a proper classic Disney song and everyone knows it. Robin Williams is just incredible as Genie and this song is just a showcase of talent which nobody else will reach. Also in the musical show this is a proper show stopping song that stays with you and you enjoy. I go all out when this on I even try and do all the different voices I put on a proper show.

3. Why Should I Worry?- Oliver and Company

One of the most underrated films in Disney existence is Oliver and Company. I love this song always have done, I don't know all the words but I love it's feel good nature and how catchy it is and fact Billy Joel is singing it could make it a pop song on it's own. Dodger is one of my favourite characters.

4. Out There- Hunchback of Notre Dame

Admittedly I haven't seen this film in years but I became obsessed with this after hearing it in the Wishes show at Disneyland Paris earlier this year. I think I may have to go back and watch the film, although it scared me when I was younger.

5. Friends On The Other Side- Princess and the Frog

I really like this film and this was the stand out song for me and it was well done in Wishes at Disneyland Paris. This is the villain song in the film and I like the tone it sets and the film takes a turn during this sequence.

6.  In Summer- Frozen

Both me and my boyfriend adore this song in Frozen and we love Olaf. Again it is the amazing voice of Josh Gad. I love this song because the fact that it's a snowman who wants to be in summer and has no idea that the hot and cold don't work. It's just a lovely funny concept. Also an amazing character introduction that only Disney can do.

7. Jolly Holiday- Mary Poppins

Adore this song it's just lovely and uplifting makes me feel so happy when I listen to this. Also the whole sequence in the film is just so much fun and Mary and Bert's outfits are gorgeous it's just amazing.

8. Prince Ali- Aladdin

I adore Aladdin as a film which I think has been established, I find this is the one song that is forever stuck in my head, it is so catchy. This song establishes a turning point in the film as Aladdin puts on a persona to pursue Jasmine. Again live this song is a amazing in the musical it is a real showcase.

9. Everything is Honey- Winnie the Pooh

Believe it or not my boyfriend loves Winnie the Pooh and he is obsessed with the 2011 Winnie the Pooh film which this song is from. It's just a fun song and I love when he starts singing along to it so I have a lot of love for it. Plus I would have loved a Winnie the Pooh in the yellow and black striped swimming outfit it is so cute.

10. A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes- Live Action Cinderella

The only time in the film you hear this song is the credits but it is on the soundtrack and I adore Lily James singing this song her voice is gorgeous. I adore this film anyway which is a post within itself.

So they are my top 10 Disney songs, like I said they are in no particular order but I love them all.

Until next time

Stacey

Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
