Disney x Cath Kidston: Alice in Wonderland Wishlist

It is that time again when a new Disney x Cath Kidston collection, this time around is Alice in Wonderland. I haven’t seen Alice in Wonderland for years, so this to me is an interesting theme for a collection and I wasn’t sure at first but then I saw the range and it is lovely. I thought I’d share some of my favourite pieces from the collection.

Bags and Accessories

My favourite bag from the whole collection is the Alice’s Words Buckle backpack, I didn’t realise I needed this until I saw it in an Instagram Story and when I saw how many pockets it had I was instantly sold, I really want it as my carry bag for my holiday to Corfu later this year.

RRP: £60

Accessories wise I love the Alice minilite umbrella, ever since Cath Kidston introduced umbrellas into the Disney range they have looked amazing and this one is no different I love the heart shaped handle.

Fashion
I adore the Alice’s words cotton shirt dress, it just looks really flattering and I like the print on it. Again, another piece I saw on an Instagram story as was impressed by. I also think it’s a nice length so you could wear it to work or out to dinner and still look amazing.
RRP: £80

I love a denim jacket they make a summer outfit and the Painting the Roses jacket is perfect, the pattern is lovely on it and not too in your face either, it’s a nice different piece from Cath Kidston to include in this collection.
RRP: £75

Home
Lately with Disney x Cath Kidston collections my favourite sections have become the home sections and this collection is no different. I love the quirkiness of the home stuff that Cath Kidston bring out.
This is the first Disney collection with bedding and I don’t know why it wasn’t bought out sooner because the Alice’s words bedding looks amazing and would look good on the bed.
Pillowcases RRP: £30
Bedding set RRP: From £65

Next is the Set of Two Falling Alice Tea Towels, I love the detail on these especially the blue tea towel as it has all the characters within the spots and I think it’s a great way to incorporate everyone from the film.
RRP: £15

Ever since I saw the Set of Two Alice’s Words tumblers I knew they were going to be the one thing in this collection I made sure I got I just think they are lovely and not over the top and the detail is amazing.
RRP: £22

I think the Playing Cards Salt and Pepper shakers are a great idea especially with the little detail with the S for salt and the P for pepper in the playing card style something they need to keep for future collections.
RRP: £20

Unfortunately, it is plausible for me to afford everything I have spoken about so I think realistically I’m going to try and get the Alice’s Words Buckle Backpack and the Set of Two Alice’s Words Tumblers and have a browse at the rest of the collection. I adore the Disney x Cath Kidston Collaborations, I try and buy something from each collection which I have successfully so far.
The collection is available for pre-sale on Thursday if you sign up and available early in selected stores before being properly released in store and online on Friday.

Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
