A Weekend in Ashdown Forest

Back at the beginning of October, me and Darren celebrated 8 years together so we decided to book a trip to Ashdown Forest. Ashdown Forest is the inspiration behind the Winnie the Pooh stories as we love Winnie the Pooh so much we decided we wanted to go. Our accommodation was the Hundred Acre Studio which is on Airbnb, this was a little studio area attached to a house owned by a lady called Eve and her dog Sooty right in the heart of the forest. I cannot rave enough about Eve and Sooty and the studio they were amazing. Eve is really knowledgeable about the area and so helpful but also respectful of your space considering it’s attached to her house. Also her black Labrador Sooty is amazing he’s so calm, friendly and quiet. We actually only saw her twice in the three days we were there and one of them times was when she greeted us. The studio itself is gorgeous and has everything you need for a short stay. The kitchen and bedroom are in the same room but the kitchen is so modern an...

My Favourite Disney Instrumentals

With all these new versions of Disney films, it means they come with new soundtracks and because of this I've found myself loving and appreciating some of the instrumental pieces of music on that appears in Disney films, I have a list of ones that I'm loving, so thought I'd share. These are in no particular order. 1. Remember- Hans Zimmer (The Lion King) Pic Credit: Spotify I only really discovered that I loved this piece of music because of the trailers for the new Live Action Lion King where they use this piece of music and it hit me with how emotional it makes me. This piece of music happens after Scar has been killed and the rain washes out the flames and everyone is checking on each other. Simba then climbs Pride Rock to take his rightful place, it's that little piece that actually gets me. It then takes us through to the end of the film when it comes full circle. It's an amazing piece of music and really powerful and you can link it as soon as you hear...

Warner Brothers Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter

On Sunday 2nd June I visited the Harry Potter Studio tour for only the second time, I haven't been for about 4 years. So I've never seen the Forbidden Forest nor the recently opened Gringotts Bank which I was really excited to see. There have been so many changes since I was last there, including a different place to get the bus, the ticket collection outside and the new inside foyer bit where you go into the tour and the shop, with the addition of the Chocolate Frog cafe which has a much better seating area than it used to. Our tour wasn't until 2pm so we went and go some food from the cafe, I had the tuna and cucumber bloomer with a Diet Coke and it was a nice sandwich I was impressed. I really liked the clock in the queue at the cafe, it reminds me of the Weasley clock, also on the back of the chocolate frog cafe were mirrors shaped like witches and wizards cards. Once we'd eaten we had a mooch around the shop to see if there was anything we fancied buying. I lov...

Aladdin Soundtrack Reaction

It's out it's finally here, Live Action Aladdin is finally in cinemas after a wait that seems to be have been forever. Alongside the cinematic release we have also been graced with the release of the soundtrack, now I was worried about the music but it's a lot better than I anticipated. So I thought I'd share my reaction to the songs with you, note that this is just through listening to the music not watching it in context with the film. I have seen the film and loved it but that's a separate post.   Arabian Nights- Will Smith Pic Credit: Spotify This was a pleasant surprise, I loved the stripped back beginning that intensifies throughout the song. Also, there's a little instrumental near the middle that's taken from the original Arabian Nights which I loved and nearly cried as well. There's some little lyric changes which work perfectly fine. I also like the added bit from the Cave of Wonders it adds an intensity to the song. Will Smith's sin...

Ultimate Live Action Aladdin Shop Guide

We are ONE day away from the cinematic release of Disney's Live Action Aladdin in the UK and it's no secret that I am beyond excited for this film. So I thought I'd put together a shopping guide of my favourite pieces of merchandise from a wide variety of shops. Shop Disney Shop Disney have such a wide selection of Aladdin merchandise for both the Live Action and cartoon versions. I have picked out a few of my favourites but you have everything from dressing up costumes for children, stationary, jewellery, accessories, toys and clothing for adults as well. Pic Credit: Shop Disney From the Live Action collection I really like the Ladies Pyjamas, they look really light and thin to wear which is perfect for the summer and also the design isn't too much either with a green top with "A Whole New World" printed in gold and peacock feather printed bottoms. They look really pretty. I love stationary and I really like the pack of 6 pencils that are purple and ...
