Ultimate Live Action Aladdin Shop Guide

We are ONE day away from the cinematic release of Disney's Live Action Aladdin in the UK and it's no secret that I am beyond excited for this film. So I thought I'd put together a shopping guide of my favourite pieces of merchandise from a wide variety of shops.

Shop Disney

Shop Disney have such a wide selection of Aladdin merchandise for both the Live Action and cartoon versions. I have picked out a few of my favourites but you have everything from dressing up costumes for children, stationary, jewellery, accessories, toys and clothing for adults as well.

From the Live Action collection I really like the Ladies Pyjamas, they look really light and thin to wear which is perfect for the summer and also the design isn't too much either with a green top with "A Whole New World" printed in gold and peacock feather printed bottoms. They look really pretty. I love stationary and I really like the pack of 6 pencils that are purple and green/blue colour with sayings that represent the film. I am so happy that they've made a proper Magic Carpet rug that you can use and display in your own home, I think it's really lovely and I'd want this in my house. My last pick is the Princess Jasmine cosmetic case, I don't think you can go wrong here it looks really pretty with a velvet look and a lovely detail with the magic lamp zip. Cosmetic cases are always handy to have around as you can use them for all kinds of storage.

From the collections show casing the original cartoon, my first pick I was a bit undecided at first but after seeing it, it has grown on me so much and that is the Aladdin sweatshirt for adults. The design has grown on me quite a lot, I especially love the 1992 on the sleeves representing the year the movie came out. Another favourite is the Mini Genie backpack, now it is a lot bigger than the word mini suggests, I love the design with Genie all over and I think this would make a really good parks bag when visiting Disney. The next two items are from the Oh My Disney range that they bought out a few months ago for summer. The first is the Aladdin swimming costume, I'm not sure how it would look on but one thing I love about this is the picture on the front of Prince Ali and Jasmine on the balcony just before that famous kiss scene. The second item is the Swimming Bag I just really like this, I like that it doesn't look like it's for children because it's more a tote bag design so anyone could use. Also I'm going on holiday next year and my boyfriend wants to teach me to swim so it would give me a reason to buy this bag.

Pandora

Pandora has to be one of my favourites brands, I love their jewellery it is so pretty I have so many charms, rings and everything. There Disney collection is gorgeous and I cannot wait to keep adding to my collection. The Aladdin collection only consisits of four pieces which include a bangle and three charms.

The bangle is sterling silver, with a decorative clasp with a white gem with "Never lose your sense of wonder" engraved into the band.

The three charms are made up of two gold plated and one sterling silver. The gold plated charms are a Magic Lamp which has little white gems on the pendant and the lid lifts up on the lamp showing a green glittery interior to represent the Genie. The second is the Agrabah castle which is plain and simple but also detailed and very pretty, again with white gems on the pendant. The last charm is the Magic Carpet Ride charm which is sterling silver with a blue enamel background with the outlines of Aladdin and Jasmine on a Magic Carpet taken from A Whole New World. On the other side of the bead "You fill my world with wonder" is engraved  and around the outside of the bead a pattern is engraved.

Couture Kingdom

Sticking with the jewellery theme Couture Kingdom which does Disney jewellery launched an Aladdin collection, so I'm going to pick out a few of my favourites but they they have extensive range of jewellery covering a lot of Disney films not just Aladdin.

My favourites are the Genie in the Lamp Night necklace, the Princess Jasmine enamel necklace, the Princess Jasmine flower stud earrings and the Moon and Genie Lamp in the night stud earrings. Each item can be either white gold, gold or rose gold plated so they can suit whatever style you prefer. This is only a fraction of the collection, go and check it out in full on their website: Couture Kingdom- Aladdin

H Samuel

H Samuel have the most gorgeous Disney jewellery collection called Enchanted which is split into the various Disney films. Aladdin is no stranger to this where H Samuel have created a collection that actually features in the film during the Cave of Wonders scene which is pretty insane. It is only a small collection but it's so pretty but I do warn you that these pieces are on the more pricey side but still worth showcasing I think. There is an assortment of rings, pendants and earrings all decorated with blue topaz. I think my favourite piece from this collection is the Genie's Lamp pendant, it's made of 9ct gold and diamonds and looks so dainty and pretty. Check out the full collection and the rest of the Enchanted Disney jewellery on their website: Enchanted Disney Aladdin

There is also a pigment in the shade Rose, a Kohl liner in the shade Graphblack and a powder blush in 2 shades called Always One Jump Ahead and Your Wish is My Command.

Lastly there is a 9 shade eyeshadow pallet which has to be my favourite item in this collection, it is made up of purple, nudes and pinks. The shades are named No Ordinary Lamp, Creative Copper, Agrabah, Riffraff, Rags to Riches, Live the Genie Life, Princess Jasmine, Abu! and Shadowy Lady. Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
