7 Things I Want To Do After Lockdown

I can't believe I am writing this it's crazy, I had so much to look forward to this year like most people and unfortunately I probably won't be able to do any of it. This lockdown has taught me to see what I value most and what is more important to me and what I actually want to do. So I thought I'd put a little list of 7 things I want to do when lockdown is over.

1. See and spend time with Darren properly
We haven't seen each other properly since lockdown started which at the time of writing this is 7 weeks however in the UK they are changing with rules that we can see each other outside, which is better than nothing I guess. I'm hoping in June we can actually go between our two houses and see each other like we used to. It's really hard we've been together nearly 9 years and this is the longest we have been apart like most people. Fingers crossed, I just want to cuddle up and watch Disney+ together as that's something we haven't been able to do.

2. See my friends and celebrate missed ocassions
This one is very self explanatory, I want to spend time with my friends and catch up. Two of my friends have had birthdays in isolation so it'll be nice to have dinner and drinks to celebrate.

3. Move Out

This has been something me and Darren have wanted to do for so long but other things have come and stopped us. One thing I'm grateful for with this lockdown is it's pushed me to save money a lot because I'm not going out on the weekends spending it randomly, so now I budget and put away what needs saving first then see what I am left with. Also, if say we get a second peak or something happens again at least we'll be together. We aiming to do this around September time, life allowing that is but I think we can finally do it this year.

4. Get a Car

This is something I've been putting off now for over a year, I passed my test last year and have driven once and hated it so much. However, if we gonna move it makes more sense to buy a cheap run around because trains and buses are expensive compared to car parks in some cases and obviously I'll still need to get to work and I can build up my confidence with it.

5. Rebook our Disney Holiday
Pic Credit: Disney Parks Blog
This year I was supposed to go on my dream holiday to Walt Disney World but it got cancelled because of what happend. Attraction Tickets dealt with the cancellation amazingly, we were so lucky to not have any problems and get our refunds. So, with the money we have got back we are saving more on top of it so we can rebook to go back next year again life depending and we are going to have a bigger and better holiday then we would have had this year. Also strangely the cancellation of the holiday has allowed us to think about moving and what not, so it might have been a blessing in disguise. Either way I cannot wait to rebook.

 6. Go back to Ashdown Forest and Pooh Corner
Last year me and Darren went and stayed in an Airbnb in Ashdown Forest for our anniversary and we loved it so much. Ashdown Forest is the idea behind the Hundred Acre Wood and Winnie the Pooh, as everyone knows we adore Winnie the Pooh. Pooh Corner is a little cafe not far from the forest and it's so cute, we had scones and Pooh shaped toast which was the best thing. We loved it so much we want to go back and stay in the same Airbnb which is called Hundred Acre Studio, owned by a lady called Eve who is the nicest, and have food again at Pooh Corner.

7. Look at my career
This is kind of a deep one but I have been in my current place of work for nearly 3 years and I love it. I work in a small community Pharmacy and I am qualified Level 2 Dispenser, this job changed my life, I went in for a shop job and now I have qualifications I never thought I'd have. However, with the whole moving away and just general shift in life, I need to think about what I want to do, where I want to go and how to get to where I want to be. At the moment my job is the only thing I'm getting up for in the mornings and I am very lucky and will never take that for granted.

I hope everyone is ok and you enjoyed this little bit of positivity.

Review- Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Tour

This weekend I went and watched the tour cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. I’ve not seen this show before but it has been on my list for a long time. I’d only heard one or two songs before so I was going in with no ideas of what it was like and I found it very enjoyable. Background This is based on the true story of 16 year old Jamie New who dreams of being a drag queen as well as wearing a dress to his prom. Throughout the show we see Jamie go through a journey of self discovery which has so many highs and lows. Along the way we meet people who are and aren’t supportive of his dream and how much prejudice he has to contend with. The show first opened on the West End in 2017 and is currently on its second UK tour. Cast The cast of this show were fabulous, unfortunately didn't get to see Ivano Turco play Jamie, Finton Flynn was incredible in those red heels. He portrayed the emotion of playing Jamie perfectly as well showing the young silly ...

Carrie Hope Fletcher Book Signing

Hey Guys On Monday 12th September I attended Carrie Hope Fletcher's book signing for her fiction book On The Other Side at the Glee Club in Birmingham. This is the second time I have met Carrie and once again she was an absolute pleasure to listen too. I attended this event on my own, and I must stay that I think the Glee Club and the Waterstones team planned and hosted the event so well considering there was 350 people that turned up to this event and each one of those people had bought a ticket and a book. We were seated quite early as doors opened at 6 and I was in a seat by 6:30 with the event starting at 7, however there were people who turned up 10 minutes before the event and had to stand up because of all the seats that were taken which gives you an idea of how many people attended this event. Before the signing of the actual books, there was a 40 minute question and answer session with a representative from Waterstones asking Carrie questions about her book, being...

Review: Beauty and the Beast Musical

In March, me and two of my friends went to see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney films and I was excited to see what this interpretation had in stall. The fairy-tale was first adapted into the much-loved Disney animated film in 1991 and became a Broadway production in 1993. The show opens with the familiar voice of Angela Lansbury and the enchanting music that we all recognise and with the help of the beautiful rose projection we are transported into the magic. Director Matt West leaves the story exactly how it is, only adding extra bits of comedy here and there which the audience engage with easily. The cast all suit their characters and portray them to perfection. Grace Swaby- Moore, understudy to Courtney Stapleton, was the embodiment of Belle, she captured the innocence of the character and belted the songs to perfection. Shaq Taylor portrayed the Beast will emotion and ferocity when needed. His voice ...
